I'm the Technology Director for World Pulse a media organization that covers global issues through the eyes of women, and I also do independent consulting. My software development experience is primarily web-related (e.g., PHP, Perl, Drupal) but I've dabbled in other technologies like Objective-C. I also have interests in usability, interface design, typography, computational linguistics, and artificial intelligence.
In the non-technology realm, I enjoy listening to and playing music, reading, writing, crafting, chasing my dog around my apartment, singing/dancing (preferably where no one can see or hear me), eating vegetarian food, learning about almost anything, and meeting new and interesting people.
I'm originally from Illinois and attended the University of Illinois where I studied Computer Science, Philosophy, and Linguistics. I've lived in Portland since 2001.
