I've been in the software business for over 20 years. I've been doing web programming for two. I love the ideals and concept of open source. I work with PHP, MySQL and JavaScript (AJAX) at work and we're about to redo our web page in Drupal. I've used Drupal for a number of web sites and am finally redoing my own web page as a Drupal page. I think Drupal is the best tool out there for a range on nonprofits, but I'm not an evangelist. I'll happily recommend other things if I think they are better suited to a group's needs. There is no perfect tool and no tool is perfect for everyone
I work for the Meyer Memorial Trust, so we work a lot with nonprofits anyway. Occasionally I help with grants that require support for software endeavors.
