The Geeks Day On idea started just over 24 hours ago and the event is already gaining momentum.
CubeSpace, Portland's stalwart co-working space is once again generously opening their doors for a community event. Geekly volunteers can work at CubeSpace during Geeks Day On, 9am-5pm, Monday, January 19, 2009 to serve folks from worthy nonprofits and/or open source projects that drop by or connect by other means. Many thanks to CubeSpace for their sponsorship and continued community spirit!
The list of geekly volunteers is growing both on the Day On site and the Upcoming event listing. Sign up now in both places to volunteer and remember to check "I will/did participate in Day On 2009" on your Day On user profile.
Our next steps will be to augment the Day On site to collect nonprofit and open-source inquiries and to expand the number of communication channels we will use during Geeks Day On to advise and assist. Comment below or contact us with any suggestions you have to make Geeks Day On better.
